THE Thurrock Community Safety Partnership provided a free Educate and Celebrate workshop for Anti-Bullying Week.
The workshop, presented by Educate and Celebrate founder Elly Barnes an experienced teacher, centred on tackling homophobic bullying in schools and how to make sure schools are inclusive and encourage young people to have the confidence to be themselves without fear or prejudice.
Cllr Angie Gaywood, portfolio holder for public protection said: “This is a excellent chance for schools to learn practical ways of tackling homophobic bullying.
“The workshop was really well attended and we hope to make this a regular event in the calendar.”
On the day, a range of professionals attended including, Youth workers, primary schools, secondary schools, Essex Police and the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board
