Rugby: Thurrock steamrollered by Tonbridge

Tonbridge Juddians 47 v 10 Thurrock

LAST season Tonbridge and Thurrock shared the spoils with an away win apiece and both games won by just two points. This one looked like being another close affair until Tonbridge went through the gears and the Thurrock defence finally cracked.

First half tries by Logan and Davey along with three penalties from Makris gave Tonbridge a 19 – 3 HT lead.

Further tries by Campion and McNamara, both converted by Makris, in the first 6 minutes of the second half took them away from the visitors.

James Flavin gave Thurrock hope with a well worked try, converted by Frankie Neale, who added to his first half penalty. Martin and Davey again added further tries in the 77th and 79th minutes with Makris again adding the extras, the later being from their own line after a scoring Thurrock pass went astray with the line begging.
