REGENERATION boss cllr Andy Smith was in bullish mood at council cabinet as he detailed plans to widen the A13.
Cllr Smith told the cabinet that funding assistance from DP World had helped to speed up the process whereby key stretches of the A13 can be widened to three lanes on both sides.
The cabinet item referred to putting a design package out to tender.
Cllr Smith stressed how important this was as the traffic is bottleneck constantly.
Cllr Smith said: “We have to get a move on, on this. We are confident the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) can provide £80 million required.”
Cllr Smith stressed that it is vital that both sides are widened.
He said: “As soon as the government provide the money, we can get on with the job.”
