Thurrock’s Not So Secret Santa

THURROCK elves have been working overtime this Christmas to make a new Father Christmas suit for one of the Borough’s politicians.

Essex Euro MP Richard Howitt donned the home-made costume when he acted as not-so ‘Secret Santa’ at Thurrock Labour Party’s Christmas Social.

Richard Howitt MEP told the gathering at St Thomas of Canterbury Church Hall in Grays:

“Some highlights of the year for me santahowitthave been helping local blind people campaign for access to local buses, supporting Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions to find work for local disabled people, helping collections at the Foodbank in Aveley and launching a European-funded music project for Thurrock school children.

“Such dedicated staff and volunteers involved in local voluntary organisations make this community very special, and are in the forefront of all our thoughts and our gratitude this Christmas.”
