House price boom across Thurrock (or is it a bubble?)

DAVID COPES OF COPES Estate Agents has always told us to remain positive and perhaps the latest figures that show house prices increasing show that he was right.

Average house prices in the SS17/18 post codes have increased by 6.8 per cent.

The increase in the Grays area, which technically includes Grays, Stifford Clays, Purfleet, Tilbury, South Ockendon and Aveley is 5.8%.

Which is surprising as last year, it was reported that prices in the Grays area that prices had slumped by 7.3%.

Last years survey was by the Halifax whilst this years report is by Hometrack.

Some estate agents have suggested that the Help to Buy schemes have helped but again other figures show that only 750 people in the whole of the UK were successful in using the scheme.

It may well be worth following these stats during the year.
