POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was knocked to the ground following an attempted robbery.
The 28-year-old victim was walking in an alleyway between Dunlop Road and Seymour Road in Tilbury at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 28, when a man on a bike approached her and tried to grab her bag from off her shoulder. She hung onto it but fell to the floor. Nothing was taken but she suffered cuts and bruises. She did not require hospital treatment.
The suspect is described as white and was wearing a black hooded top with a bright white zip at the front. It was zipped up to the nose. He was riding a dark mountain bike with chunky wheels.
