NGAGE, the Community Organisation and Volunteer Centre for Thurrock, has organised a drop in volunteer morning on Tuesday 11th February between 9.30 -12pm at the South Ockendon Community Hub in Derry Avenue. The aim of the event is to promote the VCLocal project and there will be free cakes and refreshments available, aswell as someone to talk to regarding volunteering and the local area.
The VCLocal project offers a regular weekly drop in volunteer centre service between 9.30am and 12pm every Tuesday, and encourages local people and organisations to access volunteering opportunities within the South Ockendon area
Laura Hudson, volunteer coordinator said “We want to encourage more local people to pop in and talk to us about volunteering opportunities. Volunteering can help people in so many ways including building confidence, gaining new skills, meeting new people, improving employment prospects and much more. We hope to see more people using the VCLocal drop in service and we are keen to talk about ideas for local volunteering projects”.
“We would also like to hear from more local organisations, who can let us know about any opportunities they may have to use volunteers, and also local businesses who may want to support local projects in the area”.
