ESSEX Chambers of Commerce’s recent launch of Thoroughly Thurrock; an exciting programme of bi-monthly business events planned for Thurrock, was a roaring success. The event puts Thurrock businesses on the map giving them a chance to network, build new relationships and hear speakers discuss the issues that matter. With an exciting line up of speakers planned this is a networking event not to be missed, establishing Essex Chambers firmly in Thurrock, in the driving seat and minds of Thurrock businesses.
Businesses across a wealth of sectors celebrated the grand launch with over 80 delegates inspired to hear about and be part of the exciting future of Thurrock and further afield.
How much further afield was highlighted by Essex Chambers’ Patron and guest speaker Chris Scott, Managing Director for Claridon Group, who spoke about his company’s expansion into Myanmar (formerly Burma) and the complexities faced by businesses when setting up offices abroad. Drawing on the experience of Claridon, he spoke of the exciting opportunities in this new market. Claridon Group, based in Thurrock, celebrates 25 years of business as one of the UK’s leading logistic companies. As part of their 25th anniversary they have added a specially commissioned Harley Davidson to their fleet; featured in the launch event.
Denise Rossiter, Chief Executive for Essex Chambers of Commerce, commented on the event, “The future in Thurrock is very exciting and Essex Chambers is looking forward to working with businesses to make the most of the opportunity here. As the first in a series of premier networking events to be held at Orsett Hall, Essex Chambers is delighted to bring its networking expertise to Thurrock. The turnout at our launch event highlights the positive impact that Essex Chambers can have here.”
The series of events are sponsored by Heart and Orsett Hall Hotel & Restaurant, who are complimenting this fresh new networking group with radio advertising campaigns and a superb home for our regular twilight events.
Phil Caborn, Commercial Director, Heart commented ‘We are very proud to be involved in the new Thoroughly Thurrock networking events and very excited that the launch went so well on Tuesday evening. The turn out was great and I believe included a number of new Members to Essex Chambers of Commerce. We are looking forward to working with the chamber Members as the year progresses and can not wait for the next event at Orsett Hall to take place.’
