Football: Hassan returns, Lamar ban upheld

Hassan Oktay returns to Grays

The experienced coach returns to Grays Athletic in a senior coaching role

Oktay was assistant manager to Hakan Hayrettin before moving to pastures early in 2013 and has returned to the club from Banbury FC who play in the Calor League.

The UEFA ‘A’ Licensed coach will step into a senior coaching role working with the senior and u18s coaching staff.

Lamar’s12-month ban upheld

The Blues ‘keeper had appealed his 12-month ban and will now serve that lengthy playing exclusion

Johnson is suspended until January 1, 2015, and was fined £550 after he admitted an offence after our Ryman Premier league match against Bury Town in September 2013.

He will remain at the club in a dual scouting and coaching role, working with the club’s keepers at all age levels.

The club will make no further comment on this matter.

East heads and Hammond not available on weekdays

Defender Dave East has left the club and Jeff Hammond is currently unavailable for midweek games

Dave East joined the Blues in 2012, initially playing for the reserves but soon proved his worth as a covering defender for the first team. He played a number of games earlier in the season but work commitments and injuries have limited his appearances so we can confirm he has been released in order for him to pursue other playing opportunities.

Striker Jeff Hammond is currently unavailable for midweek games due to work commitments but will continue to be available for selection for weekend games.
