FOLLOWING on from last years hugely successful Buy One Get One Free night, Thurrock Courts Players return to the Thameside this March offering Buy One Get TWO Free!
The evening showcases the Players’ 2014 drama festival entries, fresh from their performances at the Waltham Forest Drama Festival, which local theatre goers often do not get the chance to enjoy.
This year’s line-up features three one act plays – On Unofficial Business, centring around inmates transported in a prison van and their desire for freedom; Crackerjoke Writer, a surreal tale of a correctional institution for bad comedy writers; and Raisins, a portrayal of dating experiences taken from real people and written by Courts member Dean Rands (contains adult themes).
Dean said: ‘I’m really excited to be finally bringing this piece to the stage. This is my first venture as a writer and director for this group and I’m really happy with the way they have embraced this idea. It’s been fantastic interviewing so many people – young and old – and gathering their thoughts and experiences about dating. Although some of it is rather near the knuckle and the language can be colourful, I hope that the audiences will appreciate and relate to at least some of the experiences shared.’
This one night only performance takes place at the Thameside Theatre, Grays on Wednesday 19th March from 7.30pm. Tickets are limited and may be purchased from the theatre box office 0845 300 5264, or on the night, for the fantastic price of only £8 each.
