Maldon & Tiptree 1 v 1 Thurrock
THURROCK were denied victory in their chase for points in the quest for the Ryman One North title and in the end had keeper Andy Walker to thank for ensuring they took a point back to Ship Lane and made up ground on leaders VCD Athletic.
Thurrock had the better of the first half and took the lead in the 32nd minute through a fine solo effort from Bradley Warner.
The second half was controlled mainly by the home side and they deservedly drew level after 74 minutes when a long free-kick was headed on by Kye Ruel and Ben Smith volleyed home.
In the closing stages Maldon had two chances to win, but both times Walker pulled off fine saves.
