Grays Ath 1 v 3 Hampton and Richmond
GRAYS Ath went down to a well organised Hampton and Richmond 3-1 at Mill Field on Saturday.
It is hard for Grays to sustain any momentum at this time of the season. They produced a great performance against Margate on Thursday night but there can be no denying that this schedule is taking it out of them. Then again, it is taking it out of a lot of teams, the consequence of which is a lot of strange results.
Whatever Grays future holds in terms of new stadium, they must surely have a 3G in their range of options.
Two goals from Hampton’s Dave Tarpey and one from Charlie Moone gave the Beavers the victory.
It was 2-1 at half time after Orme cashed in on a defensive mix up just before the break.
Needless to say, Grays midfielder Jake Hall, on only his second game since his return, was sent off.
However, Grays Ath are in twelfth position in the league. An amazing performance considering how bleak things looked last month.
Grays return to action, at home, against Kingstonian on Wednesday night at 7.45pm.
