Nepalese fashion collection wows Palmer’s

STUDENTS and VIPs were wowed by the stunning spring couture collection, showcased at a spectacular fashion show at Palmer’s Collection last week.

Aspiring designer and current BTEC Art and Design student Sanjay Rai and fellow student Louiser Businge put on a fantastic fashion show as part of their Extended Project work. The students organised the entire event including a casting for models.

The fashion show, inspired by Nepalese royalty was held in the College’s Lecture Theatre. The ticketed event was sold out in hours by excited students. VIPs included the Mayor and numerous college staff.

The Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Fish said: “It was a great pleasure to be invited by the students to the Fashion Show. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and applaud both Sanjay and Louiser for putting on such a creative and well organised show.”

The students also sourced help from Hair and Beauty students from South Essex College who provided the hair and make-up for the models. Photography and filming was completed by Palmer’s Photography and Film students.

Mark Vinall, Principal of Palmer’s College said: “Congratulations to Sanjay Rai and Louiser Businge for their immensely creative and successful fashion show that was held as part of the AS Extended Project qualification. Everyone who went was greatly impressed.”

BTEC student Louiser Businge said: “We are so relieved that it all went well! There was a great atmosphere during the show and it was really nice to see so many students and staff coming to support our event.”
