Appeal after hooded thugs attack man in Grays

POLICE in Grays are appealing for information following an incident in the town centre in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 60-year-old man from the Rainham area, was assaulted by two men in hooded jumpers who tried to steal his bag. He was attacked sometime between 00.45am and 1am on Saturday, March 29. During the struggle, the men kicked him in the ribs whilst he was on the floor. They did not manage to steal his bag.

The man had fallen asleep on the train travelling from London and ended up in Grays. When he got off the train he made his way into Crown Road which is where the attack happened. The victim did not go to hospital.
