Football: Grays pegged back by Harrow

Ryman Premier

Harrow Borough 2 v 2 Grays Athletic

GRAYS let slip of a two goal lead to draw 2-2 against Harrow Borough.

Many Grays fans are simply delighted to be dealing with mid-table battles whilst others are keen to see the team use these games to build a team for next season.

But a Marc Charles-Smith’s second half double pegged the Blues back.

Charles-Smith’s goals came after his former team-mate at Wheatsheaf Park, Leroy Griffiths, Earlsmead earlier in the season, got Grays off to a great start on 16 minutes. Griffiths poked home Helge Orome’s cross.

Joel Nouble scored the second after battling hard to muscle off Michael Peacock and then slot the ball past Boro’ keeper James Shea.

But the fightback started in the 53rd minute when referee Paul Howard awarded the home side a controversial penalty, due to Grays keeper, George Kamurasi appearing to come through the back of Charles-Smith.

The striker neatly tucked the penalty away.
