Tilbury 0 v 0 Waltham Forest

TILBURY shared the points again with relegated Waltham Forest in a game that Tilbury looked in control for long periods without scoring.

Inside seven minutes Aaron Waters free kick was well tipped onto the bar by man of the match Tangara. Seconds later Harry Cook went close from a lovely through ball by Blackman. Tilbury continued to press and the effective Babalola had some good runs and on two occasions denied by the keeper.

On the half hour Christou hit over from six yards before Cook again went close with a header after good play by Babalola. Just before the break Piers Wixon headed towards goal before the rebound to Cook whose strong effort was blocked. The home sides first effort came on the whistle when Igbo blazed wide. Tilbury continued to dominate after the break and Blackman’s glancing header just wide after a Waters free kick. Forest had a good effort on 52 when Menga went through on goal only to see his effort go wide of the goal. Both sides had half chances late in the game, but had to settle for a point each.

The result leaves the Dockers in 18th place and go into Monday’s final home game of the season against Cheshunt looking to improve there end of season position.
