Update:
Travellers have now moved on.
===========================
IT does like another day, another story about an illegal gypsy-traveller encampment.
This time, we understand that a group of travellers has settled on the car park at the back on Bannatynes in Chafford Hundred.
They have been there since the Bank Holiday Monday.
YT has spoken to South Chafford councillor, Tunde Ojetola who has told us he is set to liaise with both Bannatynes and Thurrock Council in order to help resolve the issue.
On Saturday, we had a report that a group of travellers were trying to settle in an area of Lakeside.
YT has been reporting on the increased frequency of this issue in both Thurrock as well as over on our sister paper in Harlow

Ha Ha Duncan!
thurrocks reputation as a soft touch for travelers is clearly spreading.
I can’t imagine that Mr rich person gives a sh1t. Whereas the people that live around this? Well done Mr Kent. Your defence of travellers is truly inspiring
This is becoming a major issue for Thurrock – Thurrock Borough Council – please please support your local tax paying residents and resolve these issues.
