DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a burglary in south-west Essex in which two cars were stolen from outside the owner’s home.
The break-in happened in South Ockendon when thieves forced their way through the front door of a house on Cedar Rise between 3-4:30am on Thursday, June 5. Inside, they stole two sets of car keys and then the cars themselves, a grey Ford Mondeo and a silver Mazda MX-5, from outside.
Investigating Officer, Ds Natalia Ross, said: “We have examined CCTV from the local area and these two stolen cars are seeing driving around for a couple of hours. We’re not sure why, but we’re hoping that someone would have seen them. The Mondeo is on a 57-plate while the Mazda is on a 02-plate.”
A forensic examination of the property was carried out, with house-to-house enquiries also completed.
Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Grays police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
