IN A CORNER of Palmer’s College, the Thurrock Community Chorus are nearly ready for their two performances of Verdi’s Requiem.
Verdi’s Requiem, a powerful and moving piece that is perhaps one of the best-loved pieces in the choral repertory, will be performed at High House Production Park in Thurrock on 3 and 4 July.
The Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus and Brighton Festival Chorus will join forces with two outstanding professional French orchestras – Orchestre de Picardie and L’Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne – in what will be a unique performance conducted by Arie van Beek. James Edwards, Jette Parker Young Artist Michel de Souza, and former Young Artists Monika-Evelin Liiv and Anita Watson will also perform.
