Thurrock Council statement

Following Wednesday’s accident, Thurrock Council contractors expect to complete the repair to the west-bound A13 at the Orsett Cock Interchange overnight Thursday/Friday (17/18 July).

A diesel spillage caused major damage to the road surface which needs to be repaired fully.

One lane of the carriageway is closed at present due to the damage.

A full road closure will be in place to the westbound carriageway from 8pm to 5am tonight to allow for the necessary repairs to be carried out.

Following this road conditions will return to normal.
