Thurrock singers perform at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden

FRESH from their success in the sell-out performances of Verdi’s Requiem, Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus members performed at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden on Sunday 20 July in Opening Acts, the Jette Parker Young Artists’ Summer Performance.

27 members of the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus auditioned for the opportunity to take part in the Jette Parker Young Artists’ Summer Performance and perform on the main stage at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Over the last few months, they have worked hard rehearsing with a stage director, language coaches, movement directors and conductors to prepare their parts in the performance which featured Act 1 of both Donizetti’s La Favorite and Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte.

On Sunday 20 July they performed to a packed auditorium, rounding off an exciting and successful summer for the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus.
