Brentwood Town 0 v 3 Thurrock

THE game started lively enough when by the third minute Andy Walker had rushed to the edge of his area to block a Brentwood attack and Callum Ibe burst into the box, rounded the keeper and was promptly brought down but the referee waved away claims for a penalty.
Brentwood settled into their stride better than Thurrock and had much of the play hitting the post on the half hour. Thurrock also had their moments with Greig Stewart, Callum Ibe and Jack Paxman all having half chances.
Lewis Clark picked up a knock to his knee and was replaced by James Goode in midfield with Greig Stewart dropping into the right back position.

Lamar Reynolds replaced Callum Ibe at half time and the team talk worked wonders as less than a minute after the restart Ross Wall headed through to Lamar Reynolds one-on-one with the keeper who superbly managed to turn the ball round the post.
The woodwork was the next saviour for Brentwood as Bradley Warner headed onto the post from a Jack Paxman corner and then a 40 yard free kick cleared the keeper, but just didn’t dip enough to get under the crossbar.
Andy Walker had a couple of saves to make but Thurrock were now in control and the first goal came at 69 minutes. Jack Paxman and Bradley Warner linked up well before Lewwis Spence set up Ross Wall for a spectacular shot to the keepers left.
Ten minutes later, another Jack Paxman free kick was drifted in and any one of four players could have scored but the last touch was Brentwood’s Jason Dobbs who didn’t really have any chance. Jack Paxman then made way for Daniel Okah.
As the game was drawing to a close Remi Sutton picked up the ball just outside the box, cut inside but his shot was tipped over the bar.
With two minutes to go Ross Wall was once again sent clear with just the keeper to beat, he held his nerve, drew the keeper and then selflessly slid the ball to Lamar Reynolds for a tap-in.
