A LEADING Thurrock Councillor has urged residents to report any noxious smells or odours coming from a recycling site near Orsett.
Three years ago, residents were plagued by odours after contents in the site caught fire and burned for over a week.
Orsett councillor Sue Little has kept tabs on planning and enforcement notices at the site and recently asked a question at Thurrock Council on the subject.
On Monday, evening, residents once again complained about the smell.
Former Thurrock councillor, Angie Gaywood, who lives close to the site, went onto Facebook to express her frustrations.
Mrs Gaywood said: "I have phoned to report RIO again today for the umpteenth time to the Environment Agency. They’ve been spraying the site with something and it stinks!
"They said the more people that phone them to complain the more action they can take."
Orsett councillor, Sue Little has endorsed her constituents concerns.
Cllr Little said: "Yet again Thurrock Rio causing problems for Orsett Residents The Environment Agency 0800 807060 number to phone to log your complaints."
