MONDAY, 1 September, is a date for the diary if you are interested in painting, sewing, making cards, making jewellery, drawing, or patchwork.
The South Ockendon Centre in Derry Avenue is planning courses on all these subjects over six of the seven months from September, and on Monday, 1 September at 6.45, the centre hosts a meet the tutors taster session and a chance to sign up.
The plan is for each “subject” to be taught on Monday evenings during the month – painting in September, sewing in October, card making in November, jewellery for just two weeks in December, drawing in February and patchwork in March.
The sessions will be on Monday evenings from 6.45pm to 9pm and are aimed at everyone from 18 years up. They cost £5 a session.
