AS you may have noticed, YT has run a series of news items on the parlous state of burglary detection rates in Thurrock.
The good news is that Operation Insight (see news item in our related content piece) appears to show that there have been less burglaries or less burglaries reported.
However, we have dipped into www.police.uk to see how the detection rates are getting on.
It is not good news (except perhaps if you are a burglar).
As we have stated before, there are some police forces that are concerned that their detection rates for burglary have fallen under 30%.
For Essex Police, it can be revealed that there were 86 reported burglaries in Thurrock in June and to date, according to police.uk, not a single one has been solved.
In 2006, 208 of the 1815 burglaries were solved.
In 2011, 189 of the 1642 burglaries were solved.
In 2012, 172 of the 1589 burglaries were solved.
In 2013, 111 of the 1640 burglaries were solved.
