Thurrock’s Premier Division campaign ended in defeat to Bentley by four wickets.

The visitors batted first and got off to a great start, with Bip Keeping (43) and Umaad Sultan (23) putting on a good partnership at a decent scoring rate, as 70 runs were scored after 13 overs.

But once they were dismissed, it sparked a horrendous collapse and Thurrock were all out for just 116. For Bentley, Matt Coleman took 6-43, while Glen Swinney got the other four wickets.

The hosts quickly knocked off the runs in the 22nd over but managed to lose six wickets. Umaad Sultan and David Tester got two each while Harry Morgan-James and Dean Henry took one apiece. Phil Coleman top scored with 25.

After this defeat, Thurrock ended up sixth in their first season in the Premier Division. A decent effort, but a position they will look to improve on when next season comes around.
