PLANS for a new hospice in Thurrock have move forward.

St Luke’s hospice staff were at the Orsett Show on Saturday with details of their future development.

In May there was a consultation week, where members of the public could view plans for a six-bedroom hospice and fifty homes on land in the Lower Dunton Road in Thurrock.

Now a planning application has been submitted to Thurrock Council which details the plans.

The St Luke’s hospice magazine that was being distributed at the Orsett show also has an interview with the chief executive, Eileen Marshall, where she goes into depth about the application.

The application has and will meet with firm resistance from Horndon residents, led, no doubt by the Orsett councillor, Sue Little.

We will follow this application with interest.
