A MOTION to force food outlets to display their hygiene rating, known as "Scores on the doors" was supported at Thurrock Council.
Homesteads councillor, Pauline Tolson (Cons) proposed the motion.
Scores on the doors ratings are often seen in outlets when they are a 4 or a 5 but some places that have received a lower rating are, unsurprisingly reluctant to advertise the fact.
Cllr Tolson said she was motivated to propose the motion after falling ill after a meal at an outlet, that she later found had a low rating.
