FIRE CREWS tackled a fire in a second floor flat in Southend Road in Grays on Sunday evening.
Crews reported that the flat was completely smoke logged. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to fight the fire.
Update: The fire was extinguished by 19:28hrs.
