Grays Athletic 1 v 2 Canvey Island
THERE can’t be many teams that look forward to playing away more than they do at home but that seems to be the case for Grays as they lost their third game at home with a 2-1 defeat to Canvey Island.
This is the frustration borne of not having your own ground as well has having an exciting ball-playing team that, at the vital moment, see the ball bobbling away from them or taking an unpredictable bump.
The result still sees Grays just three points off the play offs in early October, which will do nicely as they head to Enfield (nice pitch) on Saturday.
Joao Carlos opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Canvey equalised on the stroke of half time and increased their lead in the 49th minute.
