Police probe robbery on Blackshots Field in Grays

DETECTIVES investigating a robbery which happened in Grays have today appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

It took place in Blackshots Fields in Grays at around 4pm on Friday, October 3, near the sports court. A 19-year-old man from Tilbury was approached by four men and two women. One of the men threatened the victim with a knife and demanded money. The victim handed over £60 in cash.

The suspects are described as white men and women, aged around 17. The first man was of a skinny build, 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing a dark baseball cap, dark trousers and a white short sleeved t-shirt. The second man is described as chubby, 5ft 5ins tall, and was wearing dark clothing and was riding a bike.

The third man is described as 5ft 5ins tall and was of a skinny build. The fourth man is white, of a chubby build, 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing a blue and black jacket.

The two women are described as white and 17-years-old. One has blonde hair and was described as skinny. The other had black hair was of a chubby build and was wearing a pink and blue jacket.

Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of robbery. A 19-year-old from Grays and a 17-year-old from South Ockendon have been released on police bail pending further enquiries until Saturday, November 15.
