Thurrock 59 v 19 Ipswich
THURROCK returned to winning ways with a flourish, scoring 9 tries in the process to secure a bonus point win. Despite numerous injuries seven in all, Thurrock were boosted by the return of Frankie Neale after a 5 week absence and Earl Gorman away with police duty the previous week helped to soften the blow a little.
A scrum close to the line inside the first minute saw Thurrock awarded a penalty try with Ipswich collapsing the scrum too many times for the referees liking, the scrum was an area which Thurrock dominated all game, Hagen Mumba added the conversion for a 7-0 lead
Tries came at regular intervals with Bradleigh Retigan and Earl Gorman leading the way with a brace each, Tom Worsfold who played emergency scrum half, Sebastian Roche, Frankie Neale and Marcus Spremulli went over and Mumba was in fine kicking form adding 6 more conversions to his earlier effort
Overall it was a much better team effort, but they will be disappointed to concede three tries two which were converted on the occasions that the visitors threatened the full back Littlechild and his two wingers looked a scoring threat, as they also relied on No 8 Blom for his forward presence.
Thurrock will travel to LUTON kick off at 3pm in a hope to continue their rediscovered form.
