YT understands that a man has died following a house fire in Brook Road, Grays.
Fire crews were called just before noon today
The man was treated at the scene but died before he could be taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established and officers are liaising with the Fire Service over the cause.
At this time the man’s death is being treated as unexplained and the coroner has been informed.
Initial incident
Firefighters tackled a fire in a terraced house in Brooke Road, Grays.
Wearing breathing apparatus and using one hose reel jet crews had extinguished the fire by 12:18hrs.
