Impulse Leisure consults local people 
for new campaign

THIS autumn, Impulse Leisure will be encouraging local people to make exercising part of their day – a new membership campaign based on research carried out over the summer.

The research asked both members and non-members to consider the most important feature for them when thinking of joining a gym/leisure centre, how they prefer to be communicated with once they are a member, and where they look when researching different memberships and locations.

More than 200 people responded to a series of questions, with members and non-members overwhelmingly agreeing that facilities (52%) and price (36%) are the most important aspect of a leisure centre’s offer. Distance from home was rated a close third, at 35%, and 19% of respondents rated friendliness of staff as a reason for joining a leisure centre.

Using the top three results, Impulse Leisure’s marketing team were able to build a campaign focussing on the facilities, price and the distance from home of their centres.

Marketing Manager for Impulse Leisure, Michael Hurcum, said: “We asked people what’s important to them and designed our Autumn campaign around those wants. Showcasing our facilities is the key feature of the ‘Make Impulse Part of your Day’ campaign, alongside an example of one of our membership prices and location details of all of our centres, so people can see just how close and convenient we are.

“Now that the colder, darker nights and mornings are setting in, we know that many can find it hard to get the motivation to exercise. We are encouraging everyone to make Impulse part of their day and get into the habit of exercise, which should help make it easier to stick with.
