Ryman Div One North

Aveley 0 v 5 Wroxham

THE WHEELS have definitely come off the Aveley season after losing 5-0 at home to Wroxham.

The whole game hinged on four second half goals by Christy Finch.

The first half was a fairly tame affair and they went in goal-less. There was nothing to suggest what happened in the second half.

Soon after the break, Aveley’s Billy Sendall pulled down Christy Finch inside the box/ A penalty was given to Wroxham and Billy Sendall was handed a red card.

Finch stepped up and placed the ball into the bottom corner. Marrable went the right way but couldn’t get a hand onto it.

Wroxham doubled their lead as a simple ball down the middle of the pitch seemed to carve open the Millers defence. Finch was running alongside make-shift centre back Paul Preston. Finch shot left footed into the bottom corner for his and Wroxham’s second.

Wroxham were then awarded another penalty as Marrable came out and he pushed a Wroxham player over. Finch stepped up and completed his hat trick.

With Wroxham’s next attack they scored. Remy Gordan was allowed to run down the left hand side unchallenged, he pulled the ball back to Finch who scored yet again.

Finch then turned provider as he then pulled the ball across to Nathan Stone, who fluffed his shot leaving him embarrassed on the floor. Wroxham attacked again and Finch got his assist as he pulled ball back to Remy Gordan who tapped it in.
