FA Trophy 2nd Round
East Thurrock United 4 v 4 Arlesey Town
THE ROCKS were held at home in an eight goal thriller against Arlesey Town in the FA Trophy at Rookery Hill.
Boss John Coventry will be less than thrilled with the prospect of a 140 mile round trip to Bedfordshire and back on Tuesday night.
East Thurrock struck first in the 38th minute when David Bryant scored.
They stretched the lead, three minutes later with a goal by Mitchell Gilbey.. It then looked like it was a stroll in the autumn for The Rocks.
But things changed in the second half when Arlesey striker Hallelujah Basmel scored twice in a minute in the 49th and 50th minute.
The Rocks continued to plough away. A free kick by Sam Higgins in the 60th minute put them a goal ahead again and then a great shot by Mitchell Gilbey in the 72nd minute stretched the lead further.
But it was that man Basmel who troubled the Rocks defence again, as he scored his third in the 75th minute.
Tremayne Charles got the equaliser in the 80th minute, a goal which means they will have to do it all again on Tuesday night.
