Thurrock Hockey Club Reports
Men’s 1’s lost 3-0 to a strong Southend side
Div 7 South East Upminster 5th v Thurrock Men’s 2nd team. 0-1. Scorer: Paul Mailey.
A really tight game against bottom of the table Upminster, who will feel unhappy they walked away with nothing from a game where they put Thurrock under lots of pressure. Second half the game opened up more and Paul Mailey slotted home a strike at a very acute angle from the right. Late on Upminster struck a penalty corner that deflected off Keeper Dave Leeks pads towards goal, but captain Mark Mager stopped the ball in mid-air before it crossed the line and cleared the danger. A real hard working performance in the dog bound Coopers astro. Away to Maldon next week.
Men’s 3’s opposition were not able to field a team so a 5-0 win is awarded.
They lost 2-3 but exciting end to end game

The 15 player squad was outstanding with effort
Brentwood then scored two quick goals and the ladies heads went down as thus was against run of play.
However in the last 12 minutes Thurrock showed great determination and scored a well worked goal by JO DISS.
Brentwood absorbed so much pressure and then in last seconds of game
Thurrock gained a well deserved corner but sadly the draw was not to be.
This developing team is maturing well and will soon be a force to be reckoned with.
