TIM Aker MEP recently attended a demonstration calling for the scrapping for the Dartford Toll, following news that prices were set to go up once again. The cost for standard cars will rise to £2.50.
Tim Aker MEP said: “Motorists are getting hammered from all sides. This Toll is yet another cost for people who are already taxed to the hilt.
“These tolls need to go. We were told that these tolls were going to go when the bridge was paid and that was over ten years ago. Even though they’re moving to free-flow, these tolls are still a tax on the motorist. This is unfair to us in Essex and Thurrock.
“I have campaigned against these tolls for years and will continue to do so to get a better deal for motorists.”
