THURROCK MP, Jackie Doyle-Price has spoken in parliament on the strife caused by illegal encampments in Thurrock.
The "Westminster Hall" debate was led by Harlow MP, Robert Halfon who made a detailed and impassioned speech on the situation in his constituency that has gained national and international publicity.
Both Ms Doyle Price and Robert Halfon reserved particular criticism for the Essex Police and Crime Commissioner, Nick Alston.
Ms Doyle Price called his comments "astonishing" and accused him of "Shooting the messenger."
When Mr Halfon read out a letter from Mr Alston, which accused Mr Halfon of "exacerbating the problem" Ms Doyle Price said: "Outrageous".
