THURROCK Council Chief Executive Graham Farrant and Head of Asset Management Ian Rydings had a "very constructive and useful meeting" with the owners of the Sand Pits car park in Stanford-le-Hope on Friday (28 November).
Both the council and the developers have the interests of Stanford people and Stanford shoppers at heart claims Thurrock Council – a vibrant and busy town centre is advantageous to both.
The developers have agreed to consider the council’s request to vary the free parking to three hours and will speak with their management agent with a view to the implementation of this policy as soon as possible, although this may need changes to their contract.
Mr Farrant said afterwards: “I want to thank the developers for coming in to talk and their very helpful attitude. I am confident this issue will be sorted out as quickly as possible.”
