    Jon Glowacki

The versatile midfielder will not return from his loan spell at Heybridge Swifts

Glowacki was a regular in the squad in the early part of the season but following a three game ban after being sent off at Lewes he struggled to return to the form that enabled him to challenge for a place in the match day squad.

The midfielder was sent on loan last month but Blues manager Jody Brown feels a change of club will help Glowacki to return to his best form and maybe return to Grays Athletic at some point in the future.

"Jon’s been on loan at Heybridge, and following his 3 game ban it’s been frustrating for him and whilst I’ve always valued Jon’s desire and the qualities he brings, he needs to go find somewhere to settle and get back to his best.

"He’s a winner, and has had some good games for us, I’d never rule out working with him again"

    Jamie Guy

The hard working striker has played a pivotal role in getting our season going, scoring some important goals and demonstrating a work ethic, attitude and commitment to the cause both on and off the pitch that will be missed.

Sadly, as happens so often in non-league football, work and family commitments have a big impact and after recently becoming a father Jamie has had trouble getting to training and matches especially with the way some of the fixtures and sessions have had to move around to adapt to cup ties and the weather.

Blues manager Jody Brown has worked with Jamie at several clubs and is sorry to see the player leave the improving squad he has made a significant contribution to.

"I’ve worked with Jamie at 4 clubs and I know what he brings but he’s started a new family and with his commitments away from football it makes sense to go in different directions.

"He’s scored some important goals for us, and played a pivotal part in getting our season going. I am sad to let Jamie go but with the emergence of our young front players the squad continues to improve and evolve so we have to move with it.

"There’s already interest in Jamie so releasing him now will improve his chances of securing a deal and I’m sure he will score goals wherever he goes."

    James Stevens

Thurrock-born James Stevens has signed for the Blues from Witham Town after the two clubs agreed a deal late last week which meant he did not feature for either side during our league clash on Saturday.

Stevens, also a Northern Ireland youth international, resisted a move to Billericay Town last December as he took the division by storm and was instrumental in driving Witham Town towards promotion, scoring 20 goals and earning the Managers Player Of The Year award.

The 22-year-old central midfielder has decided the time is right to step up a level into an improving side with competition for places which also offers the unique opportunity to learn from players like Glen Little and Mark Bentley.

Blues manager Jody Brown was delighted that a deal could be reached with Witham Town as "James is a player I have admired for a while. He scored goals, has a good range of passing and is a major threat from set-plays."

Brown also believes the timing of the step-up into an evolving squad will be good for both player and club.

"The squad is evolving all the time, and we are learning what is needed in this division. With Bentley and Little both suffering with niggles, and an obvious lack of goals from midfield so far this year, I’m pleased to have got James in.

"He knows there’s competition for places here, and the fact he is taking on that challenge is pleasing. He’s another young player, and will develop in around players like Glen & Mark, and hopefully he will be a long term part of the clubs progress."
