£12,000 worth of asian jewellery stolen from house in Grays

    ESSEX Police are appealing for information about a burglary which took place in Bridge Road in Grays at some time between 4.45pm and 5.30pm on Wednesday November 26.

    Thieves got into the house through a downstairs bathroom window. Once inside they made a tidy search of the house and stole Asian gold jewellery worth at least £12,000.

    The stolen items included gold bangles and bracelets, necklaces and earrings. More than £1,800 in cash was also taken.

    Investigating officer Pc Nicola Hadfield said: "The family have been left extremely distressed by the loss of these items. They were being kept at the house following a family wedding and the money was also part of a wedding gift. If anyone saw any suspicious behaviour in the area at the relevant times or has been offered any of these items for sale I would definitely want to know.”
