Thurrock 0 v 1 Heybridge Swifts
THE bad news is that Thurrock lost again. The good news is that they are still in a play-off place as we head into the Christmas period.
Heybridge netted their second straight win under new boss and former Fleet striker, Cliff Akurang
A 22nd minute goal from Marcel Henry-Francis on his debut was enough to send the Heybridge fans home for Christmas unbeaten under their new manager.
Heybridge had a decent spell of play and possession through the middle of the half and got the all important first goal on 22 minutes when Pearman picked up the ball outside the area, weaved round defender Simon King before laying the ball wide for Hunt, Hunt’s first time shot was only parried by the hand of keeper Walker into his goal mouth where Marcel Henry-Francis was perfectly placed to slide home on his debut.
