Thurrock 26 v 8 Romford
THURROCK gave themselves a deserved Christmas present with this bonus point win to put an 11 point gap from the bottom 3 in the table.
The game was however a very messy stop start affair and there was no scoring until Kealan Henry scored a try in the 23rd minute converted by Hagen Mumba. It took Romford less than two minutes to reduce the deficit when trying to run out the restart gave a way a penalty and from the kick to the corner they worked a try from the line out with Webb going over.
But Thurrock started to dominate the game and Nathan Farrell went over after a great inside pass from Darryl Worster, Mumba added the conversion. To lead 14-5 at the break.
Pearton added an early second half penalty for Romford but Thurrock withstood a period of pressure and after some heroic defensive work the backs made a fantastic break out of their own half to give Jake Barrand the chance to score this time going unconverted. It was Barrand again who added the 4th try, and then he kicked the conversion from the touchline
Thurrock next game is on 3rd January when they visit Ruislip
