What’s on your New Years resolution list this year?
Give up smoking? Lose weight? Get fit? Learn to play a musical
instrument?
What can Grays Town Band do for you.
Here is a word from their spokesperson?
They said:
"Well we can’t help with the first three but we can help with learning
to play an instrument. Grays Town Band is your local brass band and we
are giving you the chance to learn to play a brass instrument. It doesn’
t matter if you’ve never tried before and can’t read music, or if you
played at school or if you already play at another band, you are more
than welcome to come along.
What about cost? Hire of an instrument, tuition, exam fees (if you
wish to take exams) and membership of the band is all included in the
£1 per week subscription.
Lessons take place on Thursday evenings from 6.15pm at our band hall
in John Street, Grays, RM17 6DZ. Once the basics are mastered there is
also a learner band which aims to progress members to the main band
which meets on Monday evenings.
So if you’re aged between 8 and 98 why not come along, the first week
is free and we have our first lessons of the year are starting on
Thursday 15th January 2015.
