Peacehaven and Telscombe 2 v 5 Grays Athletic
THE new Grays Athletic regime made it two emphatic wins in four days with a 5-2 defeat of Peacehaven and Telscombe.
It all looked a bit gloomy when Peacehaven scored in under a minute.
But there is a certain swagger in Mark Bentley version of Grays Athletic and even though he is only a caretaker manager, the last week must go a long way to giving him an extended run.
First half goals through an own goal firstly and then goals from Joao Carlos, Fortnum-Tomlinson and Jay Leader put the Blues out of sight.
The victory was topped off by a late goal from the boss himself as Mark Bentley made it 5-2.
The result will show there is a lot for Grays to play for this season. They may not be promotion candidates nor are they anything like relegation fodder but the roots of a really good team can be laid down over the next few months.
