THE Hardie Park subway between the park and Silvertown Road in Stanford-le-Hope will be closed for several months as refurbishment takes place.
Thurrock Council and its contractors have liaised with local schools to ensure children know of the closure and their parents can make alternative arrangements.
The subway is due to close on Monday, 9 February and will remain shut until Wednesday, 27 May.
The alternative route for pedestrians should be via The Manorway, Silvertown Avenue, Abbotts Drive, Southend Road, Scratton Road, and Hardie Road.
A similar closure – from Wednesday, 18 March, until Wednesday, 27 May – will be in force at the Thors Oak to Abbotts Hall Chase subway, again for refurbishment.
The alternative route will be The Manorway, Corringham Road, and Abbotts Hall Chase.
