FIVE Thurrock Council libraries boast knit-and-natter groups and now a sixth is joining the club.

The latest – Hooks and Needles – is at Blackshots Library in Blackshots Lane, Grays, on Thursdays between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

Just bring your knitting as the nattering sorts itself out.

All the knit and natter groups are free and the others are at Corringham Library, on Mondays between 2pm and 4pm; Chadwell Information Centre, also on Mondays, but from 5pm to 6.30pm; Grays Library on Wednesdays (10.30am to 12.30pm); East Tilbury Library on Fridays (2pm until 4pm) and Aveley Library, on Saturdays between 11am and 1pm.

But knitting and nattering is not the only material-based option as Pins and Needles will be a new stitching group starting at Grays Library on Thursday 5 February between 2pm and 5pm.

The aim is to give people a chance to bring along their embroidery, cross-stitching or sewing, and share their creations with others as well as having a good chat with those there – membership is free and you can just pop in.
