Volunteer Fayre set for The Beehive

VOLUNTEER Centre Thurrock is holding a drop-in Volunteer Recruitment Fayre to help people find volunteering opportunities in Thurrock. The event is being held on Thursday 12th February, between 11am – 2pm at the Beehive, West Street, Grays, Essex, RM17 6XP.

Laura Hudson, Volunteer Coordinator said “The Recruitment Fayre will be a great way for people to find out about volunteering and the benefits that it brings. We will have a variety of organisations and charities promoting their voluntary opportunities including Coal house fort, Thurrock Community Hubs programme, MIND, Thurrock Libraries, AGE UK and many more”.

“We are keen to support the recruitment of more volunteers for the Community Hub programme, with roles such as meeters and greeters, IT support, booking coordinators and customers service roles”. We would also encourage organisations who are considering using volunteers in 2015 to come along and find out how they can register their opportunities with the Volunteer Centre Thurrock.

The new FREE ACE training programme (January – March) is also available and there are lots of free training to help people learn new skills or to enhance their existing skills including first steps to volunteering and Volunteer Management.

We will also have information about youth volunteering and Timebank Thurrock, a new project where people can use their time to help others in exchange for time credits, and use the time credits to get help for themselves.

So why not make 2015 count, make a change and start volunteering or timebanking, there’s something for everyone!

For more information about volunteering or Timebanking come along to the Recruitment Fayre, or visit our website www.ngagethurrock.org.uk. Alternatively call the Volunteer Centre on 01375 389853.
