THREE local students, all from Grays, are set to study at two of the most prestigious universities in the world.
Scott Miller, Jack Waterman and Paribesh Khapung have all been offered places at Oxbridge providing they get an A*AA in their A-level subjects.
Scott from North Stifford, Grays has been offered a place at Cambridge University, subject to getting the required grades to read Law, Economics and the Environment. Scott started in 2012 studying A-levels in ICT, Business Studies, Economics and Media Studies but after a year into them he realised that the subjects he chose would not get him to where he wanted. Having realised this, Scott repeated the year by choosing A-levels in Biology, Law and Mathematics and will be sitting his exams this summer.
Scott, 19 said, “I’m really excited about getting the chance to study at Cambridge. I’ve been at College for three years and am ready to take on a new challenge.”
He added: “I’m not sure what I want to go into in terms of career but I’m sure this degree will open lots of doors for me.”
Mark Vinall, Principal of Palmer’s College said: “ I am always delighted when students are offered a place at the university of their choice. Last year 373 Palmers’ students were offered university places and I congratulate these three outstanding academics from Palmer’s on securing offers from Oxford and Cambridge”.
Both Jack and Paribesh have been offered places at Oxford University to study Physics.
